South Carolina law limits contributions to county council candidates to $1,000 per person, per election. Couples may contribute up to $2,000 per election ($1,000 from each spouse). The primary and general elections are considered separate, so the maximum combined giving is $2,000 per individual / $4,000 per couple across both elections.
